1. What is Google Street View | Trusted?

Google Street View | Trusted is the newest tool from Google that utilizes Google's Street View technology to provide 360-degree virtual tours of the inside of a business. These virtual tours appear in 3 prime places on Google: Search, Maps and Google+. Read More

2. How does it work?

Just like Street View, Street View | Trusted is comprised of dozens (or in some cases hundreds) of panoramic images that are stitched together to create a “real time,” 360-degree experience. However, unlike Street View, you don’t have to wait for Google to do it*, rather you can work with a “Trusted Photographer” or “Trusted Agency” that Google has certified to do the work in your area. The work, offered as service, involves:

  1. Shooting your space with the appropriate camera equipment;
  2. Creating the panoramic tour using Google’s software; and
  3. Uploading to Google for display.
Trusted Photographers and Trusted Agencies handle all of this for a one-time fee that’s in line with market value pricing set by Google. Generally speaking, this means hundreds of dollars - not thousands of dollars - for a typical retail store to have it done. Not only is the price point affordable, but the work can be done quickly - your tour appears on Google within two weeks of the photo shoot.

3. Where does the tour show on Google?

Once published, your Tour may appear in a variety of Google products and services, including Google Search, Google Maps, Street View, Google Earth, Google + , and other Google products. Published content may also appear within third–party sites that use Google embeddable widgets or the Google Maps API.

4. What types of businesses have tours?

While Google Street View | Trusted is available to any business (granted it is listed on Google Maps), it’s ideal for the certain business types whose interior spaces are of particular interest to potential customers. Business types like:
  • Restaurants - Allows potential customers to experience ambiance and décor up close
  • Salons and Spas – Allows customers to get a feel for the space and standards for cleanliness
  • Medical and Dental Practices – Introduces potential patients to the practice including treatment areas and equipment
  • Design Trades – Visually communicates the firm’s signature style and creative capabilities
  • Auto Dealerships – Brings customers to showrooms day or night and shows off scope of inventory

5. Can people be shown in the tour?

Yes, however all faces are blurred per Google's privacy policy. The same is true for license plates or other "identifying" objects in your space.

There are some business types, like medical/dental offices, that are not allowed to have people present at all during the shoot. Contact Us for more specifics!

6. Does Google have ROI stats for businesses that have a tour?

While it’s not possible for Google to determine exact ROI for a business that has Google Street View | Trusted, the tool’s presence as part of their larger platform is only growing. Google's studies shows that Virtual Tours help double interest in business listings.

7. Who owns the photos when the shoot is done?

You do! After your tour is published on Google, we will provide you the 10-15 still photos as high-resolution image files for you to keep/own.

8. How long does a tour take to shoot?

The typical photo shoot (500-1,000 square feet) takes 1.5 - 2 hours to shoot including virtual tour + 10-15 still photos that are included with the tour. Contact Us for a time estimate for your specific space.

9. How does a Google Virtual Tour help my business?

  • Drives more customers to click and discover you
  • Doubles your image presence on Google
  • Provides 10-15 free still photos
  • Embed it on your website and other marketing channels
